Yellow Bridge and Blue Lagoon
Nusa Islands

Yellow Bridge and Blue Lagoon

A suspension bridge to Ceningan and a cliff-ringed lagoon of vivid blue

The Yellow Bridge links Nusa Lembongan to Nusa Ceningan across a shallow channel of seaweed farms, and the Blue Lagoon is a narrow inlet of vivid blue water between cliffs on Ceningan's west coast. Together they form the most popular half-day outing from Lembongan, combining a slow crossing with clifftop views and a glimpse of island life.

The original bridge collapsed on 16 October 2016 during a religious procession, killing at least eight people. It was rebuilt and reopened in 2017, and today it carries pedestrians and motorbikes only. The Blue Lagoon is not a swimming spot: waves slam hard into the rock, and the cliff edges crumble. Cliff-jumping is offered at nearby Mahana Point, from platforms at roughly 5 and 10 meters, when swell allows.

Crossing the bridge, you see seaweed farmers working in the channel below and boats moving through the shallows. On Ceningan, a short ride leads to the Blue Lagoon, where the water glows against the white cliffs. Late afternoon brings soft light and a calmer feel, as the day-trippers start heading back to Bali and the farmers finish their work in the channel.

Highlights

  • Yellow Bridge crossing
  • Blue Lagoon from the clifftop
  • Seaweed farms in the channel
  • Cliff-jumping at Mahana Point

Good to know

  • Cross the bridge slowly and give way, as it is single-lane.
  • Do not swim at the Blue Lagoon, as the waves are violent.
  • Jump at Mahana Point only when staff confirm conditions are safe.
